Mission Statement
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a community of concerned Christians, in thankful response to the gift of New Life given by God through Jesus Christ, sees its own mission to:
Provide (OR SERVE) members of the community with a place and context for regular worship.
Be a channel for communicating God’s grace through His Word and the Sacrament of Baptism and Holy Communion.
Provide worship opportunities for sharing in appropriate celebrations, rituals or memorials so that families and members may give special meaning, under God, to particular milestones of life, including births, confirmations, graduations, marriages, anniversaries and deaths.
Offer to members and to anyone interested an opportunity to discover the meaning and contemporary relevance of God’s Word, through formal and informal study programs.
Provide give members of the community an organized way to offer:
- Friendship to the lonely
- Security to the fearful
- Food to the hungry
- Healing to the broken
- Reconciliation to the estranged
- Hope to the discouraged
Speak a prophetic word and express a moral judgment when appropriate to all units of society within the church’s sphere of influence by promoting justice and affirming influences for the common good.
