We Welcome you to Bethlehem Lutheran Church!

We the members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church welcome you. If you are searching for a Church home, we invite you to join our growing fellowship. If you are among the disenfranchised Christians we offer an extra special welcome. As a socially and culturally diverse community centered on worship, Bethlehem has a place just for you. We would love to have you walk with us in mission, whether hands on and local or through our affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

As the people of God, we gather in worship around Word and Sacrament every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. In worship we are nourished to go out in faith, by listening for God to speak to us and receiving God’s gift of Holy Communion. This community of faith is grounded in God’s love, and eager to share the love first received from God with others. We are also a community of service, committed to acting as an instrument of God’s healing love in a hurting world.

Our mission motto is Living God’s Word, which means that we don’t just talk about our faith, we live out our faith daily. We understand the first love is God’s as born out in the Gospel witness of John, "For God so loved the world that God gave God’s only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him might not perish but have eternal life."(John 3:16) This verse is often referred to as the Gospel in a nutshell. This one verse proclaims the story of God’s salvation for all people. It continues by telling us that God sent Jesus, not to condemn us, but to save us. Knowing that it is an act of grace and not by our action that we receive this love, we follow Jesus by extending God’s love and hope to a hurting world.

Bethlehem is...

A Place for Worship

During worship, we offer our thanks and praise to God and receive God’s blessing and inspiration. Our music ministry for all ages is vibrant and growing. We offer special worship opportunities monthly for families including a Children’s Message. We feature festival worship services during the holiday seasons and for baptisms.

A Place for Friendship

Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship! That’s why we make it a priority to build lasting bonds between the members of our Church family—bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. Best of all, this circle of care is ever-widening. We’d love for it to include you, too!

A Place for Learning
For us, studying the Bible is vital not only because it instructs us intellectually, but also because it guides us spiritually. We believe and accept the Bible as the written Word of God, a Book that is alive and relevant as it continues to speak to our lives. The Bible creates and nurtures faith through the work of the Holy Spirit and points us to Jesus Christ, the living Word and center of our faith. We offer regular learning opportunities for all ages including Sunday School, Bible Study, First Communion, and Confirmation.

A Place for Service
We believe the priesthood of all believers means that all baptized members are ministers called to share Gods love with the world. Just as Jesus Christ came "not to be ministered unto, but to minister…" we accept our responsibility to reach out in service to others. This is the substance of Living God’s Word in our daily lives. We cook two hundred hot meals every month for a local soup kitchen. We visit and lead worship at a local nursing home, sharing love with elderly neighbors. We serve as mentors for youth.
